This scene was a true group effort! Luckily I was working with the incredibly talented Jasper Hilgers and together we were able to move the character Blue through this cloud landscape. Because the scene transitions from a pan to a 3D camera, I had to adapt my animation to match which was quite challenging, and it required quite a few brainstorming sessions and plenty of back and forth between Jasper and I to make sure everything was working as intended!
I worked on roughing the movement for the whole scene, the rough of some additional assets (flowers, shoes, foreground clouds, paint FX) and then finally the clean of Blue and Blue's dog. Timø Prousalis was responsible for cleaning and finishing the foreground clouds in the first scene, Fabian Molina and I both did clean up on the flying shoe, and Lewis Barr turned my sketchy rough FX into beautiful, gooey paint FX throughout! Thanks for the creative direction and animation direction by Fabian Molina and Taylor Yontz respectively!
