The delicately textured styleframes designed by the Youtube team for this Henna project required a somewhat different approach than our previous collaborations. I animated all the elements of the project first, and then hand drew different textures, in some case animating the texture frame by frame for certain elements. I then was able to bring everything together and do some final touches in After Effects. I was so happy with the result and it felt doubly thematic that this handcrafted artform be celebrated with a handcrafted piece. Nataly Menjivar was once again my key contact throughout!
