After spending all of high school working in our theater's costume department, I was so excited to work on an animation that actually drew from some personal experiences! The original styleframes for this were designed by Sarah Beth Morgan, and I animated all the elements of the project minus the final version of the shapes behind the three moving portraits - Nataly Menjivar gave me an After Effects assist with that! It was a big effort bringing all these animated textures together, but I was super pleased with how this one came out. It has so many things I love animating- swishing fabrics, overlapping hair, and satisfying transitions. The Design at Youtube team were all so helpful, especially Nataly who provided feedback throughout. You can find the official project post here and the full piece and some process videos below!
